THE SOUTH AFRICAN COUNCIL CELEBRATES THE WORLD TEACHERS DAY

The 05th of October is marked by the people of the world including South Africa as a day on which excellence and the contributions of educators are acknowledged and celebrated. The South African Council of Educators has religiously marked this day to recognise those South African educators for the work they are doing. Regardless of the challenging environment in which educators operate, Teachers have without any doubt proved to be exceptional in the way the execute their mandate.

The theme for this year is “Take a stand for teachers” which is simply a call to members of the public and related stakeholders to play their part in supporting teachers in their work so that they are enabled and empowered. The theme further highlights the fact that the involvement of other stakeholders in providing support to educators stand is bound to translate into improved performance and better educational results. This year the SACE  has identified 18 best achievers and performers from all the nine provinces. The celebration also serves as an opportunity to urge learners to begin to swell the ranks of the teaching profession so that they can occupy the space of those who are leaving the profession.

As part of the celebrations, SACE is also unveiling a new home for all South African educators. The new office space is situated at 240 Lenchen Avenue in Centurion, will serve as a one stop centre where educators will receive all the necessary professional support from the Council. The new office space is also meant to accommodate the expanding services that SACE is required to render to educators.

On this day SACE congratulates all South African educators in the celebration of the profession, as well as the excellent and immaculate work they are doing in educating the nation for a better future and a prosperous economy.  _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
