SACE TO LAUNCH THE CPTD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR TEACHERS
The South African Council for Educators in conjunction with the Department of Basic Education will be launching the Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) management system.
The CPTD management system, amongst others aims to revitalise and enhance the status of the teaching profession by assisting all teachers to have access to quality professional development programmes. The time has finally arrived for the mother of all professions to reclaim its stature and honour by ensuring that the skills and knowledge base of teachers is enhanced for the benefit of the nation.
SACE as the professional body for teachers will have the overall responsibility of implementing and managing the system while the Department of Basic Education will support and oversee the implementation thereof. It is against this background that the media is invited to the launch which is scheduled to take place as follows:

Venue: 240. Lenchen Avenue, Centurion
Time: 10h00
The system will officially be launched and presented by the Ministry of Basic Education to the teaching fraternity and it is hoped that all teachers will access it for professional development purposes.
